CEA's Shawn DuBravac Shares Key Insights at Wearable Tech Conference & Expo

Leading technology trade association’s chief economist to speak on industry best practices at New York event

Norwalk, CT—May 13, 2014—Today TMC announced that Shawn DuBravac, chief economist at the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)®, will be delivering a keynote address at Wearable Tech Conference & Expo, held July 23-24, 2014, at The Javits Center in New York City, New York. Individuals and companies attending the events will have the opportunity to interact with colleagues, meet new partners, see live demos and participate in in-depth discussions on what lies ahead for the billion dollar industry.

DuBravac, who has appeared on networks such as Bloomberg, ABC and Al Jazeera, will deliver his keynote titled “Harnessing Wearable Data” on Thursday, July 24, 2014, at 10:30am. In his presentation, DuBravac will delve into industry forecasts within the wearable technology and healthcare fields to unearth evolving consumer behaviors and emerging trends, and explore how wearables and their vast data collection capabilities will continue to inform and change consumers’ lives.

“The wearables market is poised for rapid growth, as smarter devices with sophisticated sensors that can capture, track and analyze multiple measurements like heart rate, sleep habits, diet and exercise gain mainstream consumer appeal,” said DuBravac. “Already we’re seeing huge growth in this category. Between 2012 and 2013, ownership rates for wearable fitness devices tripled.”

CEA is the technology trade association representing the $208 billion U.S. consumer electronics industry. More than 2,000 companies enjoy the benefits of CEA membership, including legislative advocacy, market research, technical training and education, industry promotion, standards development and the fostering of business and strategic relationships. CEA also owns and produces the International CES®.

“CEA has large hand in promoting relationships within the consumer technology industry,” said Rich Tehrani, TMC CEO and conference chairman. “Shawn will provide a unique business perspective on trends within wearable tech market for our Wearable Tech Expo attendees.”
