Sensogram Technologies Wearable Devices to Focus on Fitness, Healthcare

While Google Glass and smartwatches boast a lot of flash, the bulk of the wearable technology space is still focused around fitness applications and, to a lesser extent, healthcare. This seems to be a fact that biosensor company Sensogram Technologies AG is all too familiar with if its upcoming wearable tech is any indication.

In the area of fitness, the company plans to release SensoTRACK, a smart monitor that is able to read and monitor several “activity parameters” as well as the user’s vitals. According to Sensogram, this allows the device to advise the most efficient way to exercise, while also offering healthy and safe ways to meet fitness objectives and goals.

Indeed, SensoTRACK’s primary purpose is to help further users toward their goals by monitoring their progress and learning their preferred ways to work out. Users can help this along by defining goals themselves with presets including weight loss, general fitness, sport performance and more.

As for Sensogram’s healthcare offering, dubbed SensoSCAN, the focus is squarely on patient monitoring. Like SensoTRACK, SensoSCAN tracks vitals and physical activity, but it is also capable of posture and pain monitoring. Sensogram also claims it can aid with the diagnostic process.

This may seem a little out there, but remote, continuous monitoring has become a major trend for achieving and accurate diagnosis. SensoSCAN aims to address this trend in a package that offers greater convenience, cost savings and functionality than most competing offerings on the market right now. Despite this, the device is able to provide a high degree of accuracy in its monitoring, which is typically a flaw amongst more mobile medical offerings.

SensoSCAN is able to marry the best of mobility and accuracy thanks to Sensogram’s sensors, which are able to accommodate indoor and outdoor monitoring, in any lighting condition and in almost any environmental condition.
