Motorola Gives Consumers More Customization Options

If there is one drawback to the current batch of mobile technology being introduced by manufacturers, it is the limited number of customization options available for the devices they sell. As the adoption rate of these devices reaches 100 percent in the vast majority of developed countries, manufacturers are going to have to differentiate themselves by providing more options so customers can personalize their smartphones, tablets and wearable technologies. Motorola has announced a new initiative to give consumers the power to choose different options when they purchase the company's new smartphones, wearables and accessories.

With the introduction of the new Moto X and Moto G smartphones, Moto 360 watch, Moto Hint wireless earbud and Motorola Power Pack Micro, the company is providing new customization and trade in options so customers can have the latest Motorola product.

The company stated the new portfolio of products will give customers unprecedented power to choose how their mobile technology fits in their life. This includes choosing the color and material of the back of the mobile phones they sell and designing a software experience that delivers the application the user needs most.

The new Moto X – has a curved metal frame, vivid 5.2" Full HD display and the back of the phone can be customized with FSC certified woods and genuine Horween leather.

The new Moto G – has a 5" HD display plus stereo sound, all-day battery and quad-core speed.

Moto 360 – keeps track of your steps and knows your heart rate with a built-in pedometer and heart rate monitor.

Moto Hint – is a wireless earbud designed to give the user complete control of their phone so they can access a wide range of functionalities by using their voice. Once it is paired with Moto X, the user can ask a variety of questions to get navigation directions, weather forecasts and more.

Power Pack Micro – is a portable battery that provides instant access to back-up power in a small unit. It also includes the Motorola Keylink, a phone and key finder that locates misplaced phones and keys.

The company has also announced a trade-in program for consumers that want to purchase a Moto G or customized Moto X using Moto Maker. Depending on the phone customers want to trade in, the company will send a Motorola Visa Prepaid Card worth up to $300 for the old device.

By launching all these devices at the same time, Motorola is looking to give customers more options when it comes to their mobility solutions. And as the announcement of Apple’s new devices looms closer, competitors have to do all they can to remind customers there is more than one player in the market.
