Kickstarter Campaign Launches for SensoTRACK

A Kickstarter campaign has been launched to bring a new breakthrough product known as SensoTRACK to the wearable technology market.

Developed by Sensogram Technologies, the device is worn on the ear and measures and monitors a multitude of factors such as heart rate, respiration rate, oxygen saturation, blood pressure, the number of calories burnt, and the number of steps taken during a specified time. These parameters are measured in real-time and enables its users to also enter measurements manually.

The Kickstarter campaign is scheduled to run through December 13 and hopes to raise $250,000 to supplement the manufacturing of the device and the refining of the product.

SensoTRACK can be used as a stand-alone product, as well as a complement to a smartphone or tablet if users want to upload the tracked data to a secure cloud platform to view or share it with others. It is available in six vibrant colors, and has a suggested retail price of $245 per device. Individuals can pre-order the device on Kickstarter for a reduced price of $199.

"Whether you are an elite athlete or someone who wishes to chart progress toward greater health, fitness, or just well-being, the feedback SensoTRACK provides can help motivate the owner of the device to reach her/his goals," Sensogram Technologies CTO and founder Vahram Mouradian said in a statement. "Information is power, and SensoTRACK offers users the power to sense, track and manage personal fitness and activities, motivated by the improving health results."

While the product will have limited availability by February of next year, full-scale production is expected during the second quarter of 2015. It will be made in the United States by development partners in the Plano area of Texas, which is expected to aid in the creation of around 50 new jobs and add $2 million to the local economy.

Those in support of the Kickstarter project and individuals within the health and fitness monitoring marketplace are said to be looking forward to see what SensoTRACK has to offer.

It has been reported that SensoTRACK is the only device currently offered by the market that can simultaneously and continuously deliver a full range of biomedical and fitness information in reliable and secure manner.
